KAKADU Introduces Upgraded Bioclimatic Pergola Series
A new generation of louvered roof systems with refined drainage, quieter motorization and expanded finish options, available for residential and hospitality projects worldwide.
This October, KAKADU rolls out an upgraded bioclimatic pergola series — the result of continuous field feedback from distributors and project clients across 60+ countries since our founding in 2016.
Design Highlights
The new series keeps the clean roof line our clients know, with narrower blade profiles and a reworked post-to-beam connection that reduces visible fasteners. Blade rotation covers a full 0–135° range, from complete shade to an open-sky position.
- Extruded 6063-T5 aluminium frame and blades
- Post sizes and beam spans configured per project load requirements
- Modular bays for single patios through to large hospitality terraces
Drainage and Weather Performance
The internal gutter system has been redesigned with a larger cross-section and easier-clean access points, improving rainwater capture with the blades closed. Wind and snow load declarations for project specifications are available on request — our engineering team confirms the governing figures against local conditions during quotation.
Quieter Motorization and Smart Control
Blade rotation now uses an upgraded tubular motor with reduced operating noise, compatible with wall switches, remote controls and common smart-home gateways. Rain and wind sensors can be configured to act at the local controller level, so protective retraction does not depend on network connectivity.
Finishes, Sizes and Customization
The series launches with an expanded standard palette — matt black, anthracite grey, white and woodgrain effects — plus custom RAL colours for project orders. All finishes are powder-coated in our ISO 9001-certified facility; coastal-grade coating specifications (Qualicoat / AAMA 2604 and above) can be requested for seaside projects.
Availability and Project Support
The upgraded series is open for quotation now, with first shipments scheduled from Q4 2026. OEM/ODM customization, CAD drawings and bill-of-materials support remain free of charge for distributors, developers and designers.
